In 2020, during unprecedented times, it became clear just how much can change in 90 days.  It also showed what we can achieve and what we are capable of in short timescales when it's really needed.

As an long standing advisor to business owners specifically we knew their needs were changing and even more so after Covid.

So we took our own advice and dramatically changed our own business to meet those needs, both now and in the future.

Flexibility.  High Impact.  Focused.  Unbiased.  No Commitment. Fast Paced.

We no longer offer a complete business consultancy service on a long term, monthly basis.  This was a huge decision that we believe enables us to offer better value for our clients and importantly maximise the delivery of our services with no ongoing conflict.

Without the comfort of long term retainers we have made sure our business always needs to deliver to the highest standards and achieve maximum value in the shortest time possible. There is no incentive to do anything else and we can never afford to be complacent or biased.  

Only working with partners that also have a similar ethos and genuine desire to achieve the best for our clients, you can be sure our services deliver all the expert advice at the highest level, without any of the worrying costs or time commitments that are common in businesses today.

Background

Having spent over 20 years as a licensed insolvency practitioner, helping businesses in distress, I have seen first hand the common challenges that face businesses day in day out.  More importantly the fine line between success or failure in dealing with those challenges.

Often in time critical and cash strapped scenarios I have always needed to assimilate large quantities of information and quickly revert with clear and realistic options that will deliver immediate results.  Working with what is available to that business, no matter how little that may be and often working under emotional and stressful conditions becomes second nature.

Developing The Business

As a qualified accountant, I had confidence my finance and business skills were strong so with my turnaround experience and then the first hand experience of running my own businesses, over time I have now developed a genuine understanding of making businesses work, as well as the different manners in which advice and support can be delivered successfully.

Frustrated at the apparent lack of flexible support being offered to businesses that sat somewhere in the middle; established enough to need guidance and support to grow but too small to have the comfort zone of being able to confidently make the jump to spending significant monthly sums on that support.

After huge amounts of research, testing and changing on a recurring basis and many conversations with respected associates, we have finally perfected our package to deliver to these specific clients and fill this gap.

Truly passionate about business, I get a real kick out of helping people succeed and have used the skills I acquired, together with my large and varied contact base to create a service with no unnecessary time or costs, for successful business owners to really step it up and achieve their potential.

Our Guiding Principles

Many years ago my dad had terrible back pain and spent a fortune (and hours and hours dragging us kids around) on various chiropractor appointments and back specialists to help him.  They told him his back was twisting slightly and would often work on him to get him back to being pain free but it would never be for any long periods of time.

Years later he went to see a general doctor about another issue and mentioned the back pain.  After a quick assessment, the doctor asked what he did for a living.  As a sales consultant driving hundreds of miles a day, in a car with a stiff clutch, it was obvious now that this had been the cause of the back pain.  Without any cost or time the problem was resolved and never came back.

(I also understand Ryan Giggs had a similar issue and my dad tells me it's clearly a common issue for bodies in supreme athletic condition!)

I always found this story fascinating and I realised that often asking the right questions was more important than having the right answers or even the right skills.  Even this was a skill in itself and often overlooked and under valued.

Knowing where to look, when and who to use in every walk of life saves more time and money than most of us care to count.

Asking the right questions, always learning and being a constant work in progress are the bases for our entire business.  We have many core values that define us that hopefully will shine through in our work and this website but these are the principles that keep us moving forward and delivering the best value at every step.

We never profess to know everything.  We don't have to. 

We know what to ask, how to listen and we choose our partners carefully.

For our clients, why waste time and money on services you may not even need or know how to get the best out of. Don't self diagnose on google or pay for specialists unless you are absolutely sure it will get you the results you want.
